The brainchild of Arlee Bird, at Tossing it Out
|
This post is short and to the point. It’s Monday. It’s sunny outside. I’m outta here!
G is for Gregarious.
This is an old word from the 1600s. Latin gregarius “pertaining to a flock; of the herd, of the common sort.
And if you’re a gregarious type, you love to be with a group, just like these guys.
And then there are the A-Z Bloggers

Awesome pictures to go with this word! I feel like I understand it even better. π

Now, there's a lovely new word for me!
Fun posting today and loved the pics especially the cow pic. It reminds of the Happy Cow commercials. π Have a great day!
Never really thought of myself as Gregarious, but I do like hanging out with the *write* crowd.
Jenn @Scribbles From Jenn
Another great word!
I love that cow pic
Gregarious is a great word!
We had sun here today finally! Yay for the both of us =D
I hope you enjoyed the day… Nice and sunny here too!
Glad you have the sun today. Here it is rainy and dark. But our grass is turning a lovely spring green!
I never thought of myself as the gregarious type, but I suppose I can be gregarious at times.
I think I'm the gregarious type, but that's a self-given description. Love being around people, socializing, in person and the blogosphere.
Silvia @ Silvia Writes
I'm definitely the opposite of gregarious in person . . . LOL. Great word, though!
Gregarious! I love that word π
Not sure if it really applies to me so much, but I'll certainly find a way to use it.
Are those gangsta cows?
Gregarious is a lovely word. Maybe I'll work it into the next scene….
They be out-gassing . . . my guess.
I would say that fits many in the community…great word and have fun in the sun π
Had a sunny time. Now back to the trenches.
A grand word! I definitely agree that A-Zers are gregarious!
At least in their participation online. It seems a lot don't like to socialize in groups. Interesting.
Gregarious is a great word. Happy AtoZ-ing!
Love your word for G. And all you A-Z bloggers are great. I've enjoyed all the posts I've been reading.
Gregarious… that's a word I rarely use.
I would be un-gregarious. lol A loner at heart. π
So it seems we have a group of un-gregarious, but "involved" bloggers here.
I am not introverted, but I don't like crowds of people and never have. Especially in this day and age. Don't want to get stabbed, shot or robbed!! Ha Ha….I won't go to stores where there is a lot of people either. I can remember once when I was quite young, I walked in to a Cosco store, and stated "I smell people" Ha Ha I turned around and walked out! Not for me!! Cute post though! http://www.sandysanderellasmusings.blogspot.com
I'm only gregarious to a point. Mostly I'm kind of introverted.
I'm gregarious on blogs and that's about the extent of it, Bish.
what's the opposite of Gregarious — cause I'm that. π I like to be with a group of one — me. Is that so wrong?
Reclusive? And that's not wrong in the least.
Yes, the perfect example would be the A to Z bloggers. But now I am extremely tempted to dump everything and just go out to the sunny garden. *sneaking away*
Dragons deserve some sunny garden days. It's good for their scales, I hear.
Good word for the day, and is an appropriate description of who I am! Happy A to Z!
MakingtheWriteConnections
Thanks for the visit, Jarm. Here's wishing you good luck with this AtoZ!
I love to be wit my flock…but it's usually a very small one, so I'm probably not gregarious. π
Small is good, too, Barbara. My family is a small flock and I enjoy being with them most of all.
Gregarious? Maybe.
Go-getters? Certainly.
Goofballs? Some of us.
Okay, now I've run out of G-word ideas… gotta go!
Writer In Transit
But you came up with some splendid G words, Michelle! Hope you passed them onto Nick Wilford for his story!
I learn something new every day. I figured gregarious for sociable, but somehow I always associated the word with being talkative.
That would be loquacious!
Can I skip ahead to S? For sleepy. You gregarious bunch party on!
Sleep? What is that?
Can I be a herd of one? I make enough conversation with myself to qualify… π
I love the cow pic! One facing the camera while the others point their cabooses in a show of solidarity.
Laura Eno β A Shift in Dimensions
That's the herd of one, Laura. And yes you can be whatever you want!
I can enjoy a gregarious bunch from time to time, a Friday night in particular is good for carousing.

A time to party and regenerate! I agree.
Nice to be gregarious, I mentioned the very word in my post today too!
We must have some telepathy going on in this herd. See you soon.
We are a gregarious bunch, aren't we?
We need each other. Writing is a lonely business otherwise!
