   Me too, Tricia. So maybe, Cate, you should hold off on putting online something you hope to publish later. Hate to see you lose an opportunity to sell a manuscript.

   Um, I've read in several places that only snippets should be put online of work you are trying to sell. Otherwise, you've published it for free.

   I'm always a little leery about posting a big chunk of my work online. I don't know if it's a good idea. Tell me what happens, would you?

   Wonderful interview. Thank you.

   I've been doing that "working on my internet presence before getting published" thing and finding it very time-consuming (though fun in many ways). I was good at finding distractions before blogging and twittering. Now it's too easy not to get back to the main writing. And I can say for sure that the blogging and twittering doesn't feed the same part of the soul. Mine anyway.

   Yesterday I posted the first three chapters of my YA novel linked to my blog and am trying to decide whether to put the whole thing up there, even while agents review the whole manuscript, etc. The road map is obsolete, it feels like.
