My Quote for the Day:
There are two great days in a person’s life – the day we are born and the day we discover why.
William Barclay
Did you sing Happy Birthday on key? Did you enter to win the iPad Mini and an eBook?
Congrats to Evernight Teen! And to you! My advice? Start working on the next one.
Happy Birthday, Evernight!
Advice: Savor the moment… and then move on to the next book! Those things don't write themselves, you know. 😉
soyoureawriter(at)gmail(dot)com
Hmm…I'm not sure. I am not an author and don't aspire to be one, but I do love to read! 😉
I would say, that no matter what, don't quit. Just keep writing.
Thank you for participating in the hop.

Hi! I dont have an advice. Im not an author. Just an avid reader! 😀 But from one reader to an author, never get discourage and dont take bad reviews to heart. And keep in touch with readers on social media. I love talking with authors, getting the scoop on character and future writing, etc. 🙂 Thank you!

Advice: Don't compare your writing progress to someone else's. This is your journey to publication and beyond.
Happy Birthday, Evernight Teen!
Happy Birthday, Evernight Teen! Hope sales soar to the moon and back!
I'm not a writer but I would say find someone you trust and have the read your work and give you feedback.

Since I'm not a writer I'm going to suggest maybe talking/chatting with authors and maybe ask them for help. The book sounds amazing!

Happy birthday Everteen 🙂
I would tell them to shop around for a great critique group, join, and stick to the group.
I'm not a writer but I would say to keep writing. Don't ever stop.

Happy birthday to Evernight Teen. 🙂
Not being a writer, I'm not sure I can answer this. From a reader stand point I'd say include interesting secondary characters who play an active role in the book (be more than cardboard background).

Keep rolling out the books.
Happy birthhday to Evernight Teen!
Impressive gift.
Happy Birthday to Evernight Teen!
Even a small audience is a victory in this business.
Keep writing and never give up.

Ah, yes. One of the most difficult pieces of advice to follow. Thanks.
Happy birthday Evernight Teen!
Advice? Don't sweat the small stuff. Write because you love it first. Then keep writing while you submit your work for publication. 🙂
My advice would be: understand that your own favourite story might not be the same one the publishers like!
So true!
Happy Birthday Evernight Teen! I would tell them to learn to say, "Yes, thank you," whenever anyone offers to buy or promote your book. There's no room for bashfulness in book sales!
Great promotion, Lee! I look forward to catching up with your bloghop! Sorry I didn't see this sooner.
Julie
Happy Birthday Evernight Teen! What an exciting celebration!
I am still new at this publishing thing, as my book is coming out this year. So, I am enjoying the advice! I would say to make sure to start working on your online presence and getting to know other writers, bloggers, and people all over the world. So many people to learn from and great people to get to know. 🙂
Thanks!
~Jess
Love the quote!
Don't stress out and think that no one wants to hear what you have written. For there is someone, somewhere who needs to hear your words and for them it might change their life. So what if 100 people hate it? Changing one life is worth it! [email protected]
Interesting. Glad you passed this on. Thanks so much.
Hi, I would tell them not to worry about who publishes them as much as making each novel as unique and spellbinding as they can. And, hey, great quote of the day, Lee!
Well, there are certainly a lot of choices out there for authors to look at. Publishing has changed almost overnight, hasn't it?
My advice would be to take risks and be confident! 🙂
superstarsportscards(at)gmail(dot)com
Okay! It's good to take risks in this risky business.
That is a terrific giveaway! I'd tell the new author that writing a book is only part of the job. Be prepared to market!
I'm seeing marketing as the biggest issue in all of your comments!
What an awesome give away! Advice? Your work isn't over, actually it's just gotten more complicated.
Happy Birthday, Evernight Teen!
And, advice? Keep writing. Keep submitting your work. Keep reading. Keep swimming. 🙂
Never heard of Evernight Teen? Must check it out. Happy birthday to it anyway. 🙂 X

Glad you heard about it here!
Happy birthday, Evernight Teen! What a fabulous prize.
I thought so. How great that they've offered this as a part of the celebration.
I always tell writers to write what they love. Not to a trend or anything else. Just what speaks to them.
Absolutely. That writing to trend is a huge temptation to be avoided. Thanks, Elana.
Would it be creepy if I did a Marilyn Monroe happy birthday rendition??
I'm not a writer so I wouldn't be sure on the advice.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I'm not sure I'm qualified to give the answer to the question posed here, but congratulations to Evernight Teen for making it to your second year anniversary!

Happy birthday Evernight Teen and many congratulations for Sudden Secrets. Wishing you continued success throughout the year.
Happy 2nd birthday and I think you give great advice to new authors
Loving this hop! As for what I'd tell a new author? Marketing is your friend! Try to have fun with it 🙂
Oh, yes. I had to learn that by trial and error. Good advice.
Hey Lee,

Okay, all the beast, um, best with "Sudden Secrets."
Your forever starstruckest fan,

I would love to win an e-copy of your book. I just read about it over at Dianne K. Salerni's site a few days ago (soooo behind here). Anyway, I don't have any answers to your question considering that I have yet to publish ANYTHING and am feeling rather spastic about it. I just wrote a blog that features plenty of spasms. We could conversate about how spastic and spasms really aren't related, but it isn't relevant. The point is "I got nothing but anxiety" and zero answers.
Oh, you fit right in here, my dear. Come back again and again. We'll conversate some more.
Happy birthday to Evernight Teen! My advice would be to remember every reader is important. Connect with them and treat them well.
Did someone say cake?
Happy birthday to Evernight Teen!
Lots of great goodies!
Love that quote – knowing Why is awesome!
I just signed up for the Blog Hop. i'll post the badge on my side bar now.
Applauding, Stephen.
Thanks for sharing- congrats to Evernight Teen.
I really like the quote. 🙂
Congrats to Evernight Teen on 2 years and a lot of great books!
Congrats to Evernight Teen!
I would tell a new published author to be prepared for all the ups and downs. One moment, you sell a bunch of books, the other…a horrible review. Don't get too crazy-excited about the good, and don't get too down int he dumps about the bad. Even keel!
Ooo, that would be a good question to have answered. And what great quotes! 🙂
Hola, Mark. What's up in your part of the world? Thanks for stopping in to say hi.
Happy Birthday! What a wonderful milestone. Great giveaway too. Will check it out.
My advice to a first time published author is–breathe deep and relax! Happy Birthday to Evernight!
Yep. The breathing helps during this process. Thanks.
you can buy the birthday cake at Dezzy's Cake Shop 🙂
🙂
Happy Birthday, Evernight Teen. I'd tell a new author "Now your book is published. Tell the world about it." Looks like a fun hop. 🙂
Happy Birthday ET (snicker) What a great giveaway!
You just couldn't resist that, could you? 🙂
Happy Birthday Evernight Teen. May you have many more with many authors and awesome books.
They're having a great celebration.
I'm not a writer but I would say write what you believe and don't stop because of what others say. Happy Birthday!! grandmatinaof2(at)gmail.com
Happy Birthday to your publisher. I would tell a first time author not to get discouraged if they're not instantly successful. Write the next book and the next. It might take many before your name gets out there in bestseller land.
Happy birthday to your publisher. They have really turned into a powerhouse.
A wonderful give-away. What advise would I give? Get started sooner, rather than later.
Hi Lee – Happy Birthday Evernight Teen – a good time of year. Lucky winner – an ipad mini … good luck to one and all – cheers Hilary
Happy Birthday to Evernight Teen! Good luck to everyone entering the contest!
I agree with Alex. That's a great giveaway. And awesome Evernight Teen is celebrating its 2nd year.
I read about that at Medeia's – that's a great giveaway!
