Baltimore had a bad start in the month of May, but then something good happened. A community torn apart came together. Over 2,500 people worked to clean up the littered streets and help local businesses reopen.
Something in the Middle
I’m revving my motor for the AtoZ Road Trip. Hope you’ll come along. I’ve found my dashboard buddy, so I thought today I’d introduce him. Meet Mario the Muse. He’ll be on the trip with me, so you’ll get to know him quite well.
Say Hi to Mario. He loves to travel, so he’ll be hitting the road a lot the rest of this year to bring you Road Side Rest Stops, Best Books for the Road, On the Road Games to keep you and the kids sane–along with other bits for us as we roll across those miles.
Hats Off Corner Welcomes Erin Fanning
First let’s get to know just a tad more about this author. No matter what interview questions authors are asked, there are always essential basics. Let’s start with those: You’ll notice that this author actually played the lightning round right! She answered with a single word. For that she gets a prize.
Blood Stitches
Love and danger intertwine…

Your muse looks like a fun one. Glad you will have such good company on your reading travels. 🙂
Nice to see people joining together to rebuild a community. More things like this need to be spotlighted.
Wishing Erin the best of luck!

Blood Stitches looks like a great read. Congrats to Erin.
It's horrible when people are focused on destroying entire communities. The rebuilding is not easy. I'm glad people step up to do it.
Good news about conscientious neighbors in Baltimore. We need a lot more of those instead of the ones who think destroying others' property is the way to make a political statement.
Erin's book look great! That's just the kind of supernatural thriller I like and Kensington is a very good publisher. Wishing Erin much success!
It's amazing when communities pull together like that. Congratulations to Erin! I did the same thing with my writing, stopping in my 20s. I wish I had that time back too.
Congrats to Erin – book sounds great! Wishing you all the best with it!
Love that Baltimore managed to do some healing
Congratulations, Erin! (I'm a chocolate person, too!)
Hi Lee, superstar author and of course, Erin,
I wish you every success, Erin. Besides, that time out from writing may have been just what you needed.
And hey, Lee, celebrity author, I shall ignore that stuff about some alphabet road trip. Gosh and giggle….
Gary
Congrats Erin!
Mario is staring at me….
Mario looks fun, the cat might want to eat his hair though lol
Mario is awesome!!! Love dashboard buddies.
Congrats to Erin! So exciting. Erin, I completely understand what it's like to wish you could get that writing time back. Our stories are similar – wrote all through school and then gave it up for a long time. It's good to see you succeed! Best of luck…
Yes, I agree with Jay. Very scary stuff! Congrats to Erin1
Seeing all the stuff in Baltimore reminded me of what happened here in St. Louis in Ferguson. Scary stuff. There's always some good, though.
Nice meeting you, Erin.
Congrats to Erin!
Have fun on the road trip, Lee. I think I need to stop and refuel. 🙂
The book sounds amazing, cant wait to watch the trailer
It's wonderful that something good is happening in Baltimore.
Nice to meet your muse. Sounds like fun. Happy traveling
Congratulations on your new book, Erin.
Quitting is one of my biggest regrets too. At least I won't quit again! 😉
What a great showcase for Erin. I love the quote too.
Good to see the community pulling together in the common interest, Lee.
A-Z Road Trip???? Still going??
Congrats Erin on the book-the trailer is really quite good. Love the quote so lets see how fast you zoom through the A to Z. I am glad that the people are coming together to clean up Baltimore. Too bad this is not in the news
Glad to hear that the town worked together:) Congrats to Erin! My hubs is from MI. They love their lakes.
Glad to hear that something good happened in Baltimore. That book sounds fascinating.
Thanks for hosting me today! And happy Memorial Day everyone–many thanks for all your kind comments!
Your dashboard buddy is adorable! Congrats, Erin. Good for you for picking up with your writing again. So many people just want to for the rest of their lives.
Visiting from the Road Trip, I ran across your Rafflecopter – how cool is that? That is one well put together video – I enjoyed it. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
Nice to meet Erin. I think many of us start out writing a lot when young, but as responsibility hits it might go by the wayside. But if it's in us, it'll rear its head sooner or later.
I love reading about Mayan culture, so this book sounds right up my alley. I also agree with all of Erin's answers, except morning. Morning? Ugh, what's that?
I was ready for an A-Z road trip (I love road trips have driven across the country nine times), but your's is something else. Erin Flanning has done a wonderful job with marketing–that is a wonderful video–and I am envious of her haunts. This will be the first summer in a dozen that I haven't spent some time in northern Michigan and when I was in Grad School, I directed a camp in Central Idaho (north of Ketchum) for a few summers. Both places are magical.
Congrats to Erin. I wish I had taken up serious writing earlier but at least I have the time now.
Congratulations Erin. For me, it was reading I got out of for a long time. At least you got back into it with plenty of time to write more stories. =)
Congrats, Erin! I love your advice. That's the one thing I would change to, if I could go back and change things. 🙂
Love that dashboard buddy, C. Lee!
Love your dash board buddy. And loved learning more about Erin. We're a lot alike, I like coffee, chocolate and print books too!
Nice to hear we have so much in common, Natalie! Hope you had a great weekend (with lots of chocolate, coffee, and books!).
I love your dash board buddy, C Lee! I have a small Maleficent Pop Doll on my desk, so I think she's my buddy for the AtoZ Road Trip. 🙂
Hi, Erin! Your trailer is awesome!
Thanks, Chris… My creative brother-in-law made the trailer!

Hi, Erin! Your trailer is awesome!
Three cheers to Erin for her publication. It sounds very intriguing 🙂
I look forward to reading what Mario the Muse will be a part of sharing.
And to the people of Baltimore, I pray for continued healing.
Thanks, Angela!
I pretty much quit writing until my mid 30's, too. I still have all of those notebooks from my teen years and I bet there's a gem in there somewhere.
I bet you're right: you should pull out your old notebooks. You never know… besides, they'd probably be fun to read!
Congratulations, Erin.
That's great so many came together to clean up the area.
And you will be zooming through the road trip this year!
Thanks, Alex!
