Writers, consider this today, and then go write something good. I’m officially out of blogginess this first day of May, so this is short and to the point. It’s not terribly creative, and I feel my insecurities popping out all over as I write it.
“Don’t be afraid to write. I think a lot of writers of all ages have a fear that they aren’t any good at writing. That fear is normal. I feel it. Most writers who care about what they are writing feel it. When you feel like you’re not good enough, write anyway. It’s just a pesky bug that’s whispering lies. The best way to swat the bug is with your pen.” Anonymous

Hey,
Hope the Blogginess has gotten better and you know I got your back if you ever want to trouble shoot possible titles 🙂

Great quote!
Charmaine Clancy says
If I gave into fear of not being great at the things I try, I'd never get to try anything. I say give it a go and have fun – I still remember all the kids cheering me on at our sports day when I'd still be running around the oval ten minutes after everyone else had crossed the finish line. Gotta take the applause where you can get it.
The Golden Eagle says
That's a very true quote!
DEZMOND says
have a nice short break, dear!
Medeia Sharif says
I'm excited about my new project, so I'm going to write today.
It's hard doing IWSG right after A to Z, but your short post packs a punch.
DMS says
I can imagine you are exhausted after all the A-Z posts and everything else you have going on.
You are a wonderful writer, but I think we all can relate to your words. Thanks for the reminder to slay those thoughts with a pen (or keyboard). 🙂
Hope you can relax!
~Jess

Thanks, Jess. I'll take some time off and then come back for some riddles. I don't want to lose my skill as guessing. 🙂
Mark Means says
Great advice, Lee, and thanks for the pep talk 🙂 You're more creative than you give yourself credit for!
C. Lee McKenzie says
I think I was drugged! 🙂 No, wait. I've developed super powers because of your AtoZ posts.
Nick Wilford says
Whoever said that hit the nail on the head! (And the bug.) Nothing for it but to keep going.
C. Lee McKenzie says
And you know that very well, Nick!

Excellent quote! And I think a break it's a great idea. It's sunny outside, you know. It's a pity all that springness goes to waste now. 🙂
C. Lee McKenzie says
Here's to that break and to spring.
Elizabeth Seckman says
I'm a big fan of getting to the point!
C. Lee McKenzie says
Absolutely!

Here from Alex's blog.
So true and Sage advice. I'm constantly battling insecurities about my writing. Very seldom do I give myself accolades. Guess it's important to do so. It's all about finding a balance.
BTW, I like your blog and am now a follower. Looking forward to reading more of your post.
C. Lee McKenzie says
So thrilled to meet you, Andrea. I love it when new people take the time to say hi.
SA Larsenッ says
Funny. Your first sentence was in my morning prayers, today.
C. Lee McKenzie says
I'm sure those prayers were answered!
Tara Grover Smith says
I think writing isn't necessarily about writing something good, or being "terribly creative," but just doing it! Thanks for sharing 🙂
C. Lee McKenzie says
Just doing it is right. Thanks for stopping by.
Lexa Cain says
Good advice. My problem is all my pesky, whispering, lying bugs work for agencies. Their discouragement is somewhat hard to ignore, but I do my best. *wink*
C. Lee McKenzie says
At least you haven't stopped and said you can't go on. That's a huge positive.
Natalie Aguirre says
Thanks for the inspiration. I'm not feeling too into writing and not having enough time for it right now.
C. Lee McKenzie says
I know. Sometimes you just have to say, I'm taking some time off.
Alex J. Cavanaugh says
That quote is very accurate. I'm not feeling really creative right now either.
C. Lee McKenzie says
Still we're doing it. What is it that keeps us at the job? Love of the work? I think so.
LM Preston says
Sometimes short and sweet is all we need.
C. Lee McKenzie says
Indeed. Thanks for the comment, LM.
