MR. ANTI, BUT NOT REALLY. |
I’ve been known to HOP on any HOP that comes along. After all why not? I have nothing else to do. Just like other writers I spend a lot of time doing my nails, eating bonbons and napping in a hammock. However, there are some HOPS that I would not be interested in. Here are three.
The Mosquito Sandwich Blog Hop. . .where everybody loses weight, but is itchy.
The Chat and Cat Blog Hop. . .in which the cat gets all the good lines and gloats.
The Close But Not Quite Blog Hop. . .in which an agent writes, “I loved your story, but. . .”
Here’s where you can find the LINKY with the other anti-HOPPERS. While they’re lounging in those hammocks they would appreciate your stopping in to say hi!
UNTRACEABLE.
HOWEVER, SHELLI IS NOT UNTRACEABLE. SO YOU CAN VISIT HER HERE. AND YOU CAN JOIN HER STREET TEAM. I DID BECAUSE SHE’S AN EXCELLENT WRITER. FIND OUT ABOUT WHAT’S HAPPENIN’
Thank you for sharing about Shelli's street team! π
I'm with you on skipping the mosquitos and "Yes, but…" rejection letters, but glaoting cats seems like they could be amusing- no?
The Close But Not Quite Blogfest is a great idea for a Reality TV Show for writers. It would be part The Bachelor, part Survivor where aspiring authors are voted off each week. As a special treat, mosquito sandwiches are sure be on hand for the contestants.

I would hate the "Close but not quite blog fest"! How depressing would that be?
These are so funny. We should do a blog hop where we think up completely awful hops! Will check Shelli's link now.
I'm kinda surprised that nobody has launched a cat blogfest so far, given in mind that most of the bloggers are cat lovers π
Ugh! I hate the third. I'll totally join the first…I'm totally willing to itch for a good cause!
A big lol at The Close But Not Quite Blog Hop. . .in which an agent writes, "I loved your story, but. . ."
Mosquito sandwich, huh? Well I wouldn't enter that bloghop either but it sounds a cut above a "hair sandwich." The weight loss thing wouldn't be bad, though.
You have an intriguing header and a beautiful blog.
Thank you for visiting my blog. It is my pleasure to meet you on this fun blogfest.
Ah Lee,
I do understand you've been almost feverishly waiting for me to comment. And ta da, here I be. Yay and wow!
Three super duper non-choices! The first one seems sincere. As sincere as a mosquito at a blood donor clinic. The second one has almost got the interest of a certain superstar dog who would sabotage such a blogfest. If she was actually interested in blogfests. The third one, I just wanted to say, nice try and we'll get back to you, maybe.
Congrats on something that's "UNTRACEABLE", S.R. Things just get better.
And yes, you even have a Slinky on here or whatever you hopper fanatics call them.
Thanking you for the irony. Me go now. Anti-hopping away and beyond….
Gary π
Mosquito Sandwich blog-hop – yuck!! I might like the Chatty Cat one; cats get grumpy if they don't get the best lines. I've been on the Close But Not Quite blog-hop for a long, long time. Once that one sucks you in, it's hard to get out.
Congrats to SR Johannes! π
I would not want to join the mosquito sandwich hop either! UGH! Great choices, Lee (or should I say terrible choices since they are hops we wouldn't want to be a part of-lol).
I have to check out Gary's Blog.
~Jess
Good picks! The mosquito one sounds truly awful.
Congrats to Shelli!!!
And when do you have time to eat bonbons? Doubtful. π I know you're typing your manuscript too hard to do your nails.
These are some of my favorites so far! Truly. Number 3 in particular would be AWFUL. Can you imagine? LOL.
The cat-dog photo is so precious, it ALMOST makes up for the other two. "Almost but not quite" <-so frustrating. I think I'd rather be flat-out rejected.
Thanks for participating in this anti-establishment, pro-Gary hop, Lee.

What a great book cover! So captivating.
A triple no-no to your batch of blogfest boo-boos!
Imagine a combination of numbers one & two? It would be called Itchy and Chatty. The Dialogue Between A Mosquitoe And A Cat, Fighting Over Who Has The Best Weight Loss Ideas? Or something like that? *hee! hee!*
Writer In Transit
I've got one cat that gets most of the lines, full stop, except when I'm yelling at him "No way!!!"
Mosquito sandwich – ewwwww.
Hey, I'd be itchy if it made me lose weight! Fun titles π
I know all about that last one. All those buts and alases.
Mosquito sandwiches? I'd rather keep my weight and not be itchy π
Nope. Wouldn't want to sign up for those. Especially the last one.
The cover for Untraceable is captivating. Love the blue with the green.
Hi Lee .. those would be excluded from my place – ghastly thoughts …
Mosquitoes in any variety! Itches = no thanks ..
Cheers Hilary
Definitely don't want to sign up for the last one!
The mosquito sandwich hop is so funny. Would definitely never do it too.
Glad we're in agreement!
The last one made me laugh so much. I think that would be the most unpopular bloghop among writers!
You are so right.
Very nice, Lee. I like the second one, but would want the dog to get the best lines.
M.L. Swift, Writer
But dogs are just too nice to upstage anyone.
That mosquito hop is hilarious. I could stand to lose quite a bit of weight, but not like that lol!!!
Great picks, Lee and I'll have to check out Shelli's street team…mostly because I'm still trying to make sure I understand what a street team is π
Check her out because it's very well organized.
Too funny! I wonder how many mosquitoes it would take to make a bread spread…
Seems we should find out. π
I have hopped many hops myself, but that is off for a while. Enjoy hopping!
This is probably my last one for a while. . .a long while, methinks.
Unfortunately my cats still always get the best lines.
I think all cats must be reincarnated stand up comedians!
I could wallpaper my house with responses to your third blog.
And best wishes go out to S.R. Johannes and her upcoming release Untraceable!
We all have tons of those papers, don't we?
The first one sounds so awful!! Good picks, Lee.
Mosquito abatement!
