I stuffed up and completely forgot to give the answers to Week One’s Mystery Bloggers. Thanks Southpaw for noticing and asking. I never, seldom, often make mistakes. . . here’s the list of Mystery Bloggers for the first week:
A: Nancy Thompson
B: Joy Campbell
C: Alex Cavanaugh
D: Mark Means
E: Michelle Wallace
And now for. . . . Mystery Blogger I’s 2013 theme: “characters and setting for Soloman’s Compass”
I is for Texas Icons.
Although most of these are not a part of SOLOMON’S COMPASS, you may find some of them included in the story. Knowing about these pieces of Texas will help you to understand Texas and Texans, too.
Feel free to ask questions in the comments, and I’ll provide answers. Or try to.

That's awesome! A to Z for one letter. I did that with cats, but I'm not sure I would have time to do it with anything else. By the way, you may have noticed I'm no longer offering a name. That's because the name is already listed in every other comment above. 🙂

Hey Lee,
I, I and I. Yes, I backtracked to this posting because poor Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar has had to take a time out from trying to keep up with this incredibly silly A to Z.
So, why am I here? Good question. Before I go back to my very own Tiki Hut, I see some semblance of sanity on your site. For you have done the entire alphabet in one posting. Texas just lurves y'all I now assume that your next post after this post must just be a tease because you have finished the A to Z. THANK YOU!
As ever and in continuing confusion,
Gary
Sipping mojitos under the Tiki Hut with Carol sounds like a fun way to spend the afternoon:)

Hi Lee and Carol .. Schlitterbahn = a good word .. I need to get Solomon's Compass .. and I need to get reading .. cheers Hilary
I read Carol's first book and plan on reading this one. Great post. I love her lists.
I have not read Solomon's Compass but I will check it out. I like your list A-Z Style, very innovative!!
I was thinking Dr. Pepper and Cowboys 🙂
Dr. Pepper AND NASA – a winning combo if there ever was.
It's Carol! I was lucky enough to win a signed copy of her book, and it was one of my best reads last year. Amazing book.
Um, yea, that was almost too easy, Lee.

As soon as I saw the cover of Solomon's Compass, I knew it had to be Carol Kilgore!
That's Carol at the Tiki Hut blog. I love her blog – she's so silly with those "10 Things" lists! 🙂
Carol Kilgore! Lee, this was excellent. What a way to showcase!
Yeah, definitely Carol. I stare at Solomon's compass every time I stop into her blog. Which I should probably do a little more often…
My goodness…I completely forgot about the existence of Whataburger! Many of these icons are definitely bringing me back to my time in Texas, =)
I know another one. Carol Kilgore. I have the book on my TBR virtual Kindle shelf.
The book gave it away. Carol Kilgore.
