My interview is up!!! Authors on the Verge Check it out.
One more thing
Take a look at what Sarah Ockler has done for the 2009 Debs. The Blog Tour should be fun when it starts.
Nicaragua
This is the break I really needed, and yet here I am at a computer. It’s only been a week since we arrived in Nicaragua and already I’ve figured out how to re-connect with the world. It took a bit of doing. We had to ford a river and drive about an hour which if you’ve ever been to Nicaragua you’ll know that that alone is a major challenge. The small four-room hotel is the only place for miles with internet connection.
Our days are mostly body surfing, reading, walking down to see the best sunsets ever, eating lots of lobster, and feeling not the least bit guilty about the sloth we easily settle into.
Publicity
It’s here!
Yep. 2009 has made its debut and already great new books are popping up on the shelves.Authors Now member, Courtney Summers‘ book is out. Congratulations on the debut of Cracked Up To Be, Courtney.
Donations
I’d like to find more organizations that are in need of book donations. There’s an African program I’m investigating, I know that many schools in Nicaragua would appreciate book donations, and there’s Cubberly Used Book Sale in northern CA.that help support the Palo Alto library. Every community must have a “Friends of the Library” group that sell donated books to benefit their libraries.
I think it would be a good way to clear the shelves of already read and not needed books. At the same time donations would help others. This is the year for helping if you can. I’m giving it a shot.

It’s up. It’s running. It looks and feels good.
Without Snoop, what would we do? Oops. Thanks to Cynthea Liu also.
Cybils Rock
Jim Averbeck’s book, “In a Blue Room” was one of
the nominations for the 2008 Cybil’s award. Nothing could make me happier. He’s a super guy with talent that these awards has certainly validated.
Yeah, Jim.
ARCs Cometh
When I opened the box it was kind of a head rush; then it didn’t seem real, like if I opened the cover nothing would be inside. It took a little getting used to seeing my words in such a different format–not scribbled notes on lined paper, not on a computer screen, not on loose manuscript pages.
Book Divas
Well, I’ve spent the day scratching my head and wondering where I am in all of this writing, publishing, marketing business. Then I landed on a site called Book Divas and had some fun. Great site for connecting with your YA readers and enjoying their take on what is hot and what is not. Have to say the reviews I read are spot on.
