|
I’m back. Crisis somewhat contained on the MOM-Front. You must not fall is now my motto. I’ll be around to say hi to all my favorite and new blogger friends and catch up on this Challenge. BTW did anyone notice this is Y day?
Yertle
Yertle is too a word.
Here’s some sentences to prove it:
Don’t give me that Yertle jive!
That new leader is Yertling over much, methinks.
She’s not just any tryant; she’s a Yertle.
See? Adjective, Verb, Noun, ergo word.

I LOVE Dr. Seuss. He was a genius. Thing 1 and Thing 2 are etched on my brain…

Hi Lee … Yertle is a good word - I know of Dr Zeuss .. but none of his writings … I started watching - then laid off! it was fun .. but there's a time and place .. another day ..
Don't fall - that is a very good motto .. but I'm pleased your mother is 'settled' somewhat and is being cared for or looked after by others, or is better in herself - that's a relief.
Does that mean you won't climb a ladder to make Pond Pudding again - now I'm desolate!!! So much fun you doing that ..
Cheers Hilary
I'm not so familiar with Yertle's story but you gotta love Dr Seuss - the cat in the hat (one of the rare cases where I think the sequel was better), the Lorax, Horton, the Sneetches - the list goes on!
I never watched or read about Yertle before.
I'm glad things are better with mom.
Y already! You are coming down the home stretch! 🙂
Oh, I miss the mom problem ..hope it completely resolves soon. -Love your Y ..Dr. Seuss is pretty cool with words. 🙂
I still have a copy of Oh, the Places You'll Go! on my bookshelf. 🙂
Yertle indeed! Dr. Seuss is on the loose. Yes, I know, he collaborated with Willie Shakespeare, "Green Eggs and Hamlet"!
Glad your crisis on the the "MOM-Front" has been somewhat contained.
Oh my, one more letter after "Y"!
Gary 🙂
I didn't know who Seuss was but until Jim Carrey made the Cat in the Hat.
LOL. Made up words are the best. I draw a good portion of my vocabulary from my creative hubby and silly kids. Rand-o-majinker our most recent addition-it's a spaceship for flying to alien infested planets. =)
Yertle sounds Yiddish :-). The first book I ever read all by myself was Hop on Pop.
Gotta love Seuss! So much fun =D
Is it possible to hate Dr. Seuss? I loved Oh, the Places You Will Go. That was my favorite.
I'm glad things are better with your mom.
What a great choice. We love Dr. Seuss at my house and I even got my daughter (at 15) one of her favorites last year as a birthday present.
Love this Y word! It was one of my favorites as a child.
Love Dr. Seuss! Yertle the Turtle, Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat and the Hat were the biggest hits here. Glad your mom is settled.
I always loved that story. The Lorax was my very favorite though.
I can't think of ANYONE that dislikes Dr. Seuss!
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish and The Foot Book were pretty popular in my household. I was also a big fan of Green Eggs and Ham. You know, since Sam I Am is kind of the star 🙂
I'm new to yertle, but not to worry, I'll do my best to break the word in. 🙂
You're making me remember back a loooong time! 🙂 The Cat in the Hat and Red Fish, Blue Fish are the ones I remember my kids liking the most.
I hope your mom is resting better now!
I've never been a huge Dr. Seuss person. Is is okay to admit that? I think I was traumatized by The Cat in the Hat when I was little. I mean, why didn't the parents leave the kids with a babysitter? Then none of the ensuing problems would have occurred. 🙂
LOVE Dr. Seuss! My all time favorite is The Cat in the Hat, followed closely by Horton Hears a Who.
My mom fell a couple of times and it was pretty scary. Hope she's settled down and that you can rest a little more easily.

How could anyone hate Dr. Seuss?? The Yertle, though, is escaping me…though I'll take your word for it! 🙂
I LOVED Yertle!! I think it's the colors that got to me. So thankful your mom is all settled. I know the fears of them falling. My mom has fallen so many times because of her MS.
so what does it mean, if I may ask? 🙂
Wasn't my favorite, but I do remember that one well.
