Talk about being insecure. Well, this IWSG post is the most insecure one I’ve ever done, but I wanted to test out something, and what better place than here among friends? That’s what I kept telling myself. Anyway, in spite of my good common sense, I’m posting my idea this month. What you’ll see is a work in progress with a rough draft of my first Instant Book. If you have some suggestions about how to use this as marketing tool or (Heaven Help Me!) how to create a video, I’d to hear them.
In terms of your writing career, where do you see yourself five years from now, and what’s your plan to get there?
Actually, in five years I hope to see two of my completed young adult novels published. To that end, last year I knuckled down and found an agent, Italia Gandolfo, then I sent her the two books. Now, of course, I’m waiting. But while I’m waiting, I’m finishing up my Alligators Overhead/Great Time Lock Disaster trilogy. So within that five years, I’d like to see these middle grade novels out as a package. That’s the plan. Fingers crossed.

The Instant Book thing is intriguing. As for writing goals? I'll retire in three years, so my goal is to do more writing in three years. 😀
Wow! I'm not sure which part I should be cheering about more - the really awesome mini-book or the agent! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wishing you all the best and cheering for you!!! By the way, my mom used to make over 70 origami figures from memory (and owns about a dozen origami books), but all I can remember is the flapping bird - which is a variation of the crane. I didn't think, until now, that I could use that information for my books. But now . . . you've opened up some creative possibilities. Thank you for being so awesome, C. Lee!

The waiting game is tough, but it also the only way to succeed. Getting writing your next work to pass the time. It helps.

OMG! I LOVE the mini-book! It's brilliant.
I like the instant book! What a perfect promotional tool. You could pick a short story for a variety of audiences and getting an entire story is so much more fun than a bookmark. Cool.

Lee, I look at your video and my gut feeling was it is a great idea. I like it and it is something that will appeal not only to kids but to adult too. Just my opinion.
