I’m late this morning with my Monday post for a couple of reasons. One, I stayed up last night to watch a cult movie that was filmed in Santa Cruz, my neighborhood. The Lost Boys was a 1987 vampire tale with Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, Dianne Wiest. I know the trailer looks grim, but this is one vampire movie you’ll laugh through. Hoaky and fun.
The second reason I’m late is about a little accident. It seems I’ve done in my right shoulder and to some extent my right hand and those five digits attached. I can only use that whole apparatus for a few hours before I have to stop, ice it, and down some pain killers. Long story. But I’m now in physical therapy and hoping for a quick recovery. I’ll be putting a lot of things on hold for a while, so I’m putting up the “Gone Fishing” sign until after Christmas.
The Princess of Las Pulgas is on sale for .99 for Christmas. Here’s the coupon if you’d like to download it or share the sale. AU57U
I will post on Dec. 21 for the DECEMBER WEP, and I will try to get around to say Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, and any other holiday you decorate for and celebrate–just a little slower than usual.

Sorry to hear about your injuries. It's really hard to only be able to use one arm. Almost exactly three years ago, I stabbed my right wrist with a purple paring knife, and suffered some minor nerve damage. Though I'm predominantly left-handed anyway, it was still hard to only have one functional arm for dressing, driving, and other things during the healing process.
Sorry about your arm and hand. Hope it gets better soon!
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Sorry to hear you've hurt yourself! Take care and have good Christmas. See you in the New Year.

I've never seen that movie, but have heard of it. But I'm not guessing it's a Christmas film;) Happy holidays, Lee! ๐
So sorry about your accident! Take care and I hope you make a full recovery very soon.
Happy Holidays to you, Lee. ๐
Yikes! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks, YV!
I'm so sorry to hear about your shoulder and fingers. Take care and I hope you'll be better soon.
I haven't seen The Lost Boys in quite a while, but I really liked it!
It was a diversion while I iced my shoulder, thinking it should be July when ice would be appreciated. ๐
I loved Lost Boys. Great movie.
Sorry to hear you're injured. Hopefully, the holidays bring you much joy and healing.
This is a rotten time of year to have use of only one hand, isn't it? Thanks, Elizabeth. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Have a good rest and hope your break and festive period is restorative rather than stressful! The Lost Boys – not seen that for a while. Definitely a fun film.
Off to therapy again today. Hoping it does the trick. Thanks, Nick.
Sounds painful! ๐ Here's hoping the therapy will do the trick and speed healing."The Lost Boys" was a fun film. Now I want to see it again. Thanks for the reminder. Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Hi Debbie. Grab some popcorn and a couple of warm puppies to sit on your lap and enjoy a few laughs if you see that film again. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, too. See you and your doggie crew in 2017.
I am sorry to hear about your arm/hand and hope the PT helps
Thanks, Sage. I know you've had your share of "healing" to do this year. Guess I wanted to keep you company. ๐
Feel better soon – and take care – I had to have rotator cuff surgery and it's not fun. Happy holidays.
Oye! Hoping to avoid that if at all possible. Thanks, Karen.
I imagine how frustrating that accident has been, Lee. Ouch. I hope you're healing well and quickly. That vampire movie sounds a hoot! Glad you're in the WEP. We'll all enjoy a break over the holiday season and into January for sure. Be well…:-)
Here's to your happy holiday as well. I love the WEP idea, so couldn't let that pass me by.
Get well soon, Lee. Sending you healing power across the ether. Have a super holiday season and look forward to 'seeing' you in the new year. Take care and thanks for all the inspiring posts you've given us throughout the year. You are so great!!
What a sweet and uplifting comment, Nicola. I do appreciate it, especially as I sit here with an ice pack on my shoulder. You've made me feel ever so much better.
Oh, eek, so sorry about your shoulder. That sounds dreadful, for sure. Hope the physical therapy leads to a smooth and speedy recovery!
I may be boring readers with my progress. Be forewarned!
Hope you feel better soon. Happy holidays!
Thanks. Appreciate the good wishes.
Love the quote – very true. Hope you're all mended in the twinkling of an eye – and have a really lovely Christmas full of good things.
Thanks, Mike. And the same to you. I really enjoyed your Christmas card post.
Sorry to hear about your shoulder. I hope you get well soon.
Merry Christmas.
Thanks so much, Melissa.
I hope your recovery is a quick one. ๐

Back to Physical Therapy tomorrow. It helps.
Lost Boys was a cheesy fun movie indeed.
Ugg to the shoulder. Hopefully it heals up quick. But just fyi, you can type with one hand, been doing it for years at my sea haha
You and my husband. I have a hard time doing that!
Hope your shoulder, arm, and hand feels better soon. And if you're going to be late, it's good to have an entertaining excuse. If I somehow miss WEP, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Thanks, Toi. I love a good, solid excuse. Hope your holiday is joyful.
Better late than never Lee, especially as it was a wonderful post to read.
Yvonne.
You're always welcome, Yvonne. I'm always a little late making my way around the circuit, too.
I'm so sorry to learn about your accident. I wish you a very speedy recovery and lots of rest and recuperation over the holidays.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
Thanks so much, Barbara. And the same to you.
I'm so sorry to hear about your accident, Lee! On a brighter note, I've always loved The Lost Boys. When Corey Haim died, it was the end of an era for me.
Happy holidays!
Didn't you love the vampire transitions? Those were the spookiest even though I was laughing because it was more comedy than anything. Have a great holiday. Thanks for stopping by.
I do hope your shoulder heals fast and you start feeling better. I also didn't saw The Lost Boys.
You, Liz, and I seem to have been the same club. I can't recommend it, but I did have fun watching it.
So sorry about your shoulder. I hope you feel better soon.
I never saw The Lost Boys. It was popular at the right time, but it didn't catch my fancy.
It's really a bad film, but somehow it has lived past its time and become the film to see. Thanks, Liz.
I'm sorry about your arm! That's never fun; I had trouble with my shoulder about a year ago and had to do physical therapy. Never fun!
Yes. Shoulders are complicated and can take some time to heal.
I love that movie! The old man always giving the kids stuffed animals is so funny especially the varmint that goes in the closet. It's really quite good and very funny. I hope you will get better sooner than later but it sounds like you may have pulled some tendons which is quite painful.
I didn't quite get the connection between the story and the stuffed animals. I kept thinking they should have some significance. Maybe I missed it. Thanks, Brigit.
Eep!!!! Not good news. I hope the PT helps and you have a speedy, complete recovery. Take care and don't worry about the internet for a few weeks!!!
It will be interesting to shut off the blog for a while. I haven't taken a break in a long time. See you in 2017, Jemi. Have a great holiday.
Happy healing! Sorry to hear you are in pain.
I loved Lost Boys when I saw it back in the day. I haven't seen it recently- but it sounds like a good reason to be late today. ๐ Awesome soundtrack!
Merry Christmas!
~Jess
Thanks, Jess. I agree. The music was fun.
I hope your shoulder heals soon.
Loved the soundtrack to Lost Boys, too.
The 80s music was hot.
Sorry to hear about your hand. I hope you heal quickly!
I'd like it up and operating by next year.
Oh, your accident sounds painful. Here's to successful therapy and a quick recovery. I like movies that make me laugh. I'm not a big vampire fan, but will have to check on this one. Great quote and I loved the Princess of Las Pulgas
Thanks, Beverly. Appreciate the good wishes and so glad you liked Princess.
Hope the therapy works. I remember that movie though it was a while ago that I watched it. Merry Christmas.
Everybody seems to have seen it. That show you how far behind in my movie watching I am.
I hope you heal up nice and quickly.
I love Lost Boys. A cult classic.
I'm late to the cult classic party. This is the first time I've seen it!
Feel better soon. You are always missed.
HUGS

Thanks, Juneta. Appreciate those thoughts.
Hi, Cheryl!
I'm so sorry to learn that you took a spill and hurt yourself just in time for the holidays. I wish you a speedy and complete recovery.
I saw The Lost Boys when it was originally released in theaters. It was my first exposure to Keifer Sutherland and also starred a vampire brat pack of other cool up-and-coming stars including Jason Patric, "the two Coreys" and Jami Gertz, a long time favorite actress of mine.
I wish you well in your physical therapy, dear friend. I'll be thinking about you. Please take care.
He was quite the blond Vampire, wasn't he? I did enjoy watching it. I guess I was in the mood for totally camp last night. Thanks for your good wishes. May you have a wonderful holiday season.
oooh I do hope that gets better. My RA got so bad with my hand and wrist for a while I started pondering 'speaking' my writing. That's a good option only if there is no other.
Have a great holiday!
I'm sure there are alternatives to typing. Thanks, Jacqui.
Hope you're feeling better soon. Happy holidays!
Hi, Jenn! Thanks and happy holidays back to you.
Oh dear. Wishing you a speedy recovery and happy holidays. Hugs
Thanks, Sandra. Time off will help.
Sorry to hear about your injury.
The Lost Boys is great! Love that movie!
I'm sorry, too. Two hands are better than one. Glad you saw this cult film.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, Lee! I loved The Lost Boys when I was younger – I haven't seen it in years though. Good to know it's still enjoyable ๐
It was a great distraction while icing the shoulder. Can't be vampires for a good laugh.
I am so very sorry to hear about your shoulder and the attached pieces of you.
Look after yourself.
Looking forward to reading your WEP entry. I am braindead and probably not playing.
I hear what you're saying about the dead brain. I wasn't planning on doing WEP this time, but I hate stopping mid-way on anything. Here's to a brilliant 2017.
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder… arm… hand… fingers. Yikes! I sure hope you have a fast recovery and are feeling much better after the holidays.
Take care! Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year!
Back to you, Chrys. See you in the new year.
Wishing you a speedy recovery! Blessings to you and your family! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas celebration.
Thanks on all your wishes, Karen. I look forward to exchanging more with you in 2017.
*hugs* Sorry to hear about your shoulder. I was lifting weights a couple of years ago and ended up with an impingement. Lots of physical therapy. It's not been a quick fix. I hope you're more fortunate.
Shoulders are slow to heal, so I'm probably looking at the same PT time as you. Glad you made it to healing.
sorry to hear about the shoulder, at least now the husband can broom the house instead of you ๐
Great idea. I'll pass it on. Merry Christmas, DEZ
Hope you feel better real soon. Take care and have a wonderful Christmassy time!
Thanks, Shilpa, and the same to you.
Oh dear! You rest up your shoulder and arm. Lost Boys was my favorite movie as a teen. I knew every line!
You loved it? Now see that's why it's a cult film now. Thanks for the thoughts. Off to ice soon.
Sorry about your shoulder!
Lost Boys was indeed cheesy but fun.
I guess I got into it because I know all the settings. But, yes, cheesy it was.
