Merry Christmas and Farewell 2015

This is not a California scene, unless you’re in the Sierras. But we are getting some rain, and some is better than what we had last year, which was none. 
Because I tend to be an optimist (even in these times when I should know better) I planted tulips and daffodils all over the place. The rain will come, I’m sure, and so will those brilliant blooms. 
I won’t be blogging until after the year ends, so this is both a Christmas greeting and a farewell to 2015. May 2016 usher in things like world peace, and no more hunger for anyone, and tolerance, and excellent books.

  1. Hope you had a wonderful holiday season. I grew up in California and thought it was normal to have sunny, warm days on Christmas. When I moved to Colorado I found out how much I liked a White Christmas. Not that we have any in London.

  11. I don't have high hopes for 2016 due to some personal stuff going on, but hey, the year might surprise me. Let's hope and pray for some awesome surprises.

    • I was listening to someone in Argentina yesterday. They have 85 degrees there for Christmas. That just doesn't seem right, does it? Have a wonderful New Year, Medeia. Have your new books on my list to read. 🙂

  20. Hi Lee - happy Christmas and New Year and then a successful 2016 … have fun. I hope the rain is sufficient to make some different to CA … then I sincerely hope the optimistic owner's tulips burst forth for Spring … cheers Hilary

    • I'm going to post pictures of my results. In the meantime, I go out and sing to the tiny bulbs, waiting just under the surface for the spring sun. See you tons in 2016!

    Usually, here in Buffalo, it looks like that top picture. I do love the snow.

  23. Have a Merry Christmas and wonderful New Years. I don't know why I thought you were from Canada and not California-oh well, has Death Valley received any rain this year? It is always beautiful with flowers in early March when there has been December rains.
