Monday Meme
Don’t forget to join Tara Tyler, Christine Rains, and me on this easy-peasy HOP. Post a MEME during the week (use your own pic or an easy meme maker app) – and if you can’t think of anything, pass on encouraging words from one of your reviews, or an inspiring quote!
Visit others. That’s it!
Then the awesome hostesses will hop around and Ooo and Ahh and choose one entry each to win an ebook. AND two lucky random participants will win a $20 GC. Enter and spread some warmth!
Hats Off Corner Welcomes Anna Simpson
Mrs. Perkins does it best. In fact, everything around Mrs. Perkins is perfectly cared for—her home, her yard, her car—all perfect.
But not today. A dark line sits between the jamb and the edge of the door.
A few inches of shadow drives my calm away and prickles the long blonde hairs at the nape of my neck. Butterflies in my stomach tell, no scratch that, demand I find my phone and go next door.

Hope you’ll check out Anna’s book.
And because I’m now MEME-CRAZED (Thank you Tara and Christine), I’ve joined these three other lovely peeps in #InkRipples. It’s a monthly meme created by Kai Strand, Mary Waibel, and Katie L. Carroll. They post on the first Monday of every month (I know I’m late. Don’t nag me, okay?) with a new topic. They’re all authors, but you don’t have to be to participate.

SEE MORE BABIES WEARING THEIR FOOD |
Great excerpt. Congratulations Anna. The book sounds delightful. As for wearing Chocolate. I capitalized Chocolate because that's how much I love it. And I've been known to wear it a time or 2. I had a marvellous Chocolate cover ice-cream bar yesterday and some of the chocolate fell onto my foot. I was so distressed when I couldn't get my foot in my mouth to lick it off!!!
Hi Lee – love the idea of Memes – but enough is enough .. I'm around though skirting in the shadows! Oh Shannon – no .. I'd hate all the clearing up! But kids do love messing around with eveyrthing in life.
I do like the badge and name of InkRipples – clever .. cheers and have a good weekend – Hilary
I think we'd all be happier if we played with our food. Especially when it's cake.
Inkripples sounds interesting. Thank you for sharing that.
Hey superstar author, Lee!
Congrats to the winners! Congrats to Anna. Congrats to you, Lee. Heck, congrats to everybody!
Please, please, please, I beg you, no more blog hops! Thank you and yes, I'm outta' here. Missing you, already!
Your starstruckest fan,
Gary 🙂
Babies covered in chocolate…
Wow, Lee. Lots going on here. I don't even know where to start. The hop sounds like fun. If I have enough sanity as we get closer, I might jump on board. Anna's book still sounds awesome.
Love the sound of the meme hop, Lee, not that I have any idea what I will do, but that's just the fun of it.
Congrats again Anna, Already have Anna's book, read and left a review. What software do you use to make meme's? I am thinking about trying it.
Juneta @ Writer's Gambit
The Meme Hop sounds cute. I will have to learn how to make a meme in order to participate.
I love Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum from Alice in Wonderland.
Makes me think of my son's first birthday. That was quite a show and bath time was early that day. hehehe
Anna from elements of emaginette
They always wear their cake the first year. It's a tradition. 🙂
Very cool. I'm looking forward to the meme hop. Mmm… chocolate!
I'm excited to see what people come up with.
Wow, I have no idea how you keep up with all these blog hops.
I'm very much looking forward to getting Anna's book when it comes out in paper. It sounds fantastic!
I'm not sure I do, but I give it a shot. Thanks for the support of Anna's books.
I found over Christmas I no longer have the taste for chocolate…..I used to love it.
Great post Lee.
Yvonne.
Think of all those calories you're saving!
That line and shadow don't sound good.
Congrats to the winners. Hmmm, I love chocolate.
Thanks, Medeia. So pleased to be with the same publisher you are.
more Scooby Doo than Nancy Drew – what a great line.
Ha! You are right.
Wow, lots going on for a Monday! Congrats to the winners.
Wow! Lots going on! I am thinking about the meme hop- sounds fun.
Congrats to Bish and Alexa.
Awesome to learn more about Anna here. 🙂
~Jess
I'm signed up for your meme hop. I must think of something good.
I know you will!
I've been craving so much chocolate lately it's driving me bonkers along with a widening waistline….
Congrats to Anna her book sounds amazing!!!
We might have to rethink corsets. I'll bet those ladies ate tons of chocolate and then pulled in those waistlines.
If it is chocolate cake then I don't want to wear it, I want to eat it! Nomnomnom!
I understand. Wearing it will have to be second.
I'm now glad to know where I can go to find normal 🙂
Here? You're always welcome.
Anna's book sounds terrific! Best of luck with it 🙂
Love the pic of the babies!! And love chocolate in all its many wonderful incarnations!
(Have to admit, I really don't know what a meme is!!!)
Google it, Jemi. That's how I found out. Now I'm a meme-maniac. Hope Anna's books is a fab success.
Yes, I would love to play in some chocolate. Like a chocolate fountain or fondue. Mmmm…
Yes! Fountain or fondue. I'm all over that.
So happy to have you join us for #InkRipples! I love the babies wearing chocolate. I'm not sure I'd want to wear my food like them, though.
Oh, come on. Think warm, dark and sweet. You'd love it.
congrats to Anna!
No chocolate fantasies? I disappointed, DEZ. 🙂
Joined the MEME hop. I'll add it to my post that week. Sounds like fun. And what a fun picture of the babies.
Hurray. How exciting to have you join in the fun. Babies are always a delight to see.
Congratulations to the winners! I'm not technologically inclined, but I'll attempt to sign up for the MEME hop. Oh and by the way, babies always look better in chocolate than I do.
Great that you're taking a chance on the meme hop. Lovely to have you join us.
I'm sorry. I'm still trying to figure out this meme hop. I've added my blog to your list, but when I add your hop link in HTML in blogspot and hit preview, the screen shows my writing and the link code. What am I missing? I didn't want to hit publish and have a message with code at the bottom of it. Can you help me?
haha not sure I want to be covered in food, especially food that resembles poop.
Okay, now you've done it. I may have to rethink my affection for that confection.
Ink Ripples sounds like a lot of fun. I missed the chocolate one, and my blog is kind of full so I'm not sure if I'll sign up this year. Hopefully next year.
I never thought I'd have an overflowing blog. What happened this month?
I signed up for the MEME hop. I'm not a Whoopi fan but that is a great quote.
Thanks for jumping into the hop!
Aw, those babies are so precious! They make chocolate so fashionable… 😉
Babies do such great things.
Great post. Congrats to the winners! I have an adorable picture of my daughter when she was just 11 months old. It was her Christening day so she was all in white until her favourite Auntie gave her a chocolate finger to munch on. That dress has never been white since 🙂
A memorable occasion, indeed.
Ha, ha! Love the babies. Chocolate is good.
Congrats to the winners.
Congratulations to the winners! And yay for the blog hop! Mmm… chocolate. It's only 8:30 in the morning. It counts as dairy, right? I can it as breakfast! 🙂 Have a great week.
Chocolate for breakfast is absolutely recommended.
Congrats to the winners, and I've already signed up for your hop! Sounds like fun … talking about being blue … and down … Wait, maybe not fun. 😉
No. Being blue and down is not a good thing. Thanks for signing up.
I had to see my nephew when he was young covered in spaghetti. Not a pretty sight!
That could be enough to stop the craving for pasta.
